Medicinal plants, voice, experience, creativity, and intellect. Word choice is the daily act that makes me tingle, and medicinal plants are my area of expertise. After a few years of being recognized by voice, where no one knew me, after guesting on audio podcasts, about medicinal plants, and many years after developing ways of teaching chemistry and how and why of medicinal plants I have found that producing audio lessons on the topic is both entirely easy and satisfying. I have an endless well of what I might share here, and also produce on SoundWise, and guest on the HerbRally podcast. How did I learn this stuff? While studying at Cornell University, I was introduced to an herbalist, 7Song, in Ithaca, New York twenty years ago. I then worked in cultivating and researching medicinal plants including American Ginseng and Goldenseal. I gained practice teaching while making a modest living, and attended the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism starting in the first year the clinical training program was offered. I also worked full time in a busy naturopathic clinic, and started my own profitable herbal product brand, which I ran for over ten years. It's ironic to me that it became ho-hum right around the time that practically everyone else became interested in being an herbal product maker. But I still enjoy delivering excellent and applicable information, a little bit ahead of the curve of the mass of herbal learners. I engaged in clinical practice for many years and was once aimed at being a naturopathic doctor, and fulfilled all the requirements, but it seems I have a teacher's and a writer's spirit.
